Why Akwa Ibom Wants Akan Udofia As The Next Governor

By Emmanuel Ufon

David Frost once said, "Don't aim for success if you want it; just do what you love, believe in, and it will come naturally."

Akan Udofia over the years has shown his love for the people through his benevolence which has undoubtedly package him as a selfless leader of repute without much ado. To spice up this fact Akan Udofia, CEO of Decision Group donated a prestigious hostel accommodation project, aimed at reducing the housing challenge among Nigerians students at Akwa Ibom State University, AKSU.

This project is a story building with 158 bedrooms and spacious internet facilities, parking space among other facilities.

This project has lifted the accommodation deficit and rank AKSU one of the best among Nigerian varsities.

Many students are using this project and it has ameliorated the accommodation plight.

Akan Udofia a symbol of humanitarian even without joining politics, did this for the sake of humanity.

He recently donated relief material to victims of the Essien Udim crisis and equally awarded an employment opportunity to a sibling of the slain job seeker, Miss Iniubong Umoren with a cheque of five million nairas.

Akwa Ibom State is in urgent need of a governor with deep experience in the workings, structures of government, global entrepreneurial, and industrial revolution.

Akanimo Udofia being the most wanted and formidable aspirant in Akwa Ibom State’s governorship race is an accomplished global entrepreneur with great expectations to deliver the state a monotonous society of civil service to a global working environment with stupendous development across all Senatorial District.

Indeed, Akwa Ibom State today needs a highly sophisticated and widely connected strategist like Akan Udofia as governor.

They need a governor who will have unfettered access to industrialize Akwa Ibom State. A man with the interest of the people at heart that even his worst critics know and will agree that Akanimo Udofia is globally recognized with established friendships, political contacts, network alliances, and mutual respect in Nigeria’s seat of power.

This is one of the greatest advantages of having Akanimo Udofia as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State.

Another massive advantage that Udofia's governorship ambition will bring to the state is that being in the ruling party and with the kind of clout he already possesses, the state can be assured of a smooth understanding and beneficial working relationship with the federal government.

Imo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodimma if not the current security challenges in the country would have been the best, he is a classical example of how a state governor who belongs to the ruling party can fast track the development of his state, with the immense support of his party’s controlled federal government. The golden fate of Akwa Ibom State will be assured if Udofia becomes the next governor of the state. We can rest assured that if he approaches the APC federal government with ten demands, he will return to Akwa Ibom State with if not all, eight approvals. How much and how fast Sen. Uzodimma has developed Imo State in so short a time should be a convincing factor of how urgently we need an APC governor of Akanimo Udofia in the state.

The much-touted national cake is still in Abuja and is being shared out every day. A governor of Udofia's clout and personality will guarantee Akwa Ibom's fair share of this cake as the corridors of power are well known to him.

The decision-makers and players in those corridors are well known to him, the hustle and bustle in the corridor are well known to him and has been an active player in those corridors for years is liken to Dangote's figure coming into Nigeria's political race, this is leverage and advantage that no other aspirant in the upcoming 2023 governorship election has.

Senate Presidency, Deputy Speakership of the House of Representatives, Ministerial appointments, Ambassadorial postings, and key positions in various boards and Parastatals are all slices of the national cake, inclusive of strategic infrastructural designations. Any governor from the ruling party traditionally nominates people to these positions. With an APC governor of Akan Udofia's mold, our expectations in these positions will be guaranteed. Speaking truthfully and sincerely, no other aspirant in Akwa Ibom state’s governorship race come 2023 can guarantee these expectations as much as Akanimo Udofia will, not because his name is Akan Udofia but because of his huge and wide political contacts.

But sadly some people do not wish this good fortune to come to Akwa Ibom State,

there has been a thick plot by Cabals within PDP and government house to ensure that Akan Udofia runs on the Umbrella platform, PDP Akwa Ibom State has been so desirous to drag Mr. Udofia into their camp because of his intimidating profile just to frustrate his ambition by denying him the Governorship ticket, their plans got exposed and the business Mogul has overcome their antics with all its resultant betrayals shortly.

PDP cannot introduce Akanimo Udofia to the corridors of power because he is highly recognise across  and known shorter routes to it. They cannot intimidate him with an introduction to decision-makers because those decision-makers have been his colleagues, allies, friends, and acquaintances for years. This is emphatic goodbye to imposition in the state and one of the advantages of having Akanimo Udofia as the next governor of Akwa Ibom State on the platform of APC, the ruling party at the national level.

2023 governorship election in Akwa Ibom State should be about what is best for the entire state and not about what will flourish the selfish interests of a political party. Opposition politics has stagnated Akwa Ibom state all these years and it will be simply unwise and retrogressive to continue to shun mainstream politics and continue in opposition, which has done nothing for the state but ensured the erosion and dilapidation of federal roads and critical infrastructures in the state. This is the time to wake up from the stupor of opposition and join mainstream politics.
