Court Adjourns Shehu Sani's Trial To May 24

Recently, Justice Inyang Ekwo of the Federal High Court Abuja, on Tuesday adjourned to May 24 and 25, trial of a former Senator who represented Kaduna Central in the National Assembly, Shehu Sani.
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) had on January 27, 2020 arraigned the former senator over an allegation that he extorted the sum of $25,000 from Sani Dauda, the chairperson of A.S.D Motors.
The Economic Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) alleged that Sani fraudulently claimed to Dauda that the money was to be given to “the Chief Justice of Nigeria” and then Acting Chairman of EFCC, Ibrahim Magu, as bribe for an alleged case involving Dauda.

Okorocha, who was the former Governor of Imo State held a meeting with Obasanjo on Monday evening at his penthouse residence located within the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL), Abeokuta.
Okorocha disclosed this on his verified twitter handle emphasised the need to always consult with elder statesmen from time to time for growth and development of a nation.

Recently, Babatunde Fashola a top-tier member of President Muhammadu Buhari’s cabinet, has been probed by the EFCC over corrupt practices tied to his questionable asset declaration and an ongoing probe of Babatunde Fowler, the disgraced former chairman of the FIRS, two senior anti-graft detectives have told Peoples Gazette.
Officials familiar with the works minister’s ordeal told the Gazette he was called in for questioning after detectives were tipped off about his involvement in Mr. Fowler’s loot during his days as the head of Lagos Inland Revenue Service and most recently at the FIRS.
