A political analyst, Gimba Kakanda recently took to his Facebook page to take a dig at the 3rd force movement in Nigeria. Gimba Kakanda said,
"The election results filtering in from #OsunDecides show the people aren’t aware of any third-force movement or whatever it is some of you have designed to dislodge the two major parties. Elections are a big-money venture and the Adeleke's come this far because of their war chest."
The results trickling in shows that most of the polling units are being shared by the candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, Ademola Adeleke, and that of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Adegboyega Oyetola across the State. In most of these polling units, the candidates of the other political parties have been getting zero votes, in some cases less than 10 votes.
Just like what Gimba had said, the people have not reckoned with the third force of political parties in Nigeria. These political parties should start building political grassroots members that will canvass their political party. The Labour Party had boasted that it will have at least 15 agents in each polling unit across the country, but they are nowhere to be found in Osun gubernatorial election.
