We all are aware that today is Nigeria's 61st Independence, an official national holiday in Nigeria, celebrated on the first of October. It marks Nigeria's proclamation of independence from British rule on 1 October 1960. However, there is one thing the federal government should do in the Southeast as Nigeria celebrates its 61st independence today.

1. The federal government of Nigeria should make sure security operatives are planted in several locations in the Southeast region.
The federal government should plant security operatives in several locations in the Southeast because of those who are aiming to carry out violent activities today, being the 61st Independence Day in Nigeria. With the help of the security operatives, hoodlums who are planning to disrupt the celebration won't have that chance to carry out their plans because the security operatives will make sure everywhere is calm and secured.
Furthermore, I urge residents in the Southeast to come out in large numbers today, being the first of October and participate in Nigeria’s independence celebration. The government has done many things to make sure that there is peace in the region. We are grateful that God has blessed Nigeria with President Buhari. His administration has changed Nigeria for good. No sane man will say that he didn't transform Nigeria since he became the president.
