We May Not Celebrate Another Democracy Day, Wole Soyinka Warns

Prof. Woke Soyinka stated that Nigeria is on the brink of disintegration and things may get worse if the government fails to listen to outcry of the people.

He stated that it is the natural right of the agitators to split from Nigeria.

He added that the unrest currently being witnessed in some parts of the country might continue if the government fails to decentralise.

He stated that what is happening to people on the streets contribute to their demonstration.

He made it clear that the situation has made the masses to defy even threats from the police and the government.

He stated that the statement, we will deal with you in language which you understand does not go down well with anybody any longer.

The Nobel laureate revealed that it is not him saying this but everybody has said it and sometimes they get tired.

He added that the whole nation is about to self destruct and he is not the only one saying it, except Buhari administration listen and take action.

He emphasized that the nation may not celebrate another Democracy Day come next year.

He expressed his dissatisfaction on the Federal Government's position to open grazing.

He made it clear that the nation do not want open grazing anymore.

He added that the government are not listening to the public.

He stated that this kind of attitude causes hopelessness in their administration.
