APC Greets Oshiomole At 69

N-POWER Recruits 27,000 Imo Youths
Beneficiaries of the N-Power scheme in Imo State have staged a sensitisation rally in support of the Federal Government’s effort in fighting insecurity in the country.
Clutching placards in support of the Federal Government’s programme, the beneficiaries who marched round Owerri, the state capital, said but for the N-Power programme, crimes would have increased in the country.
Spokesperson for the beneficiaries, Williams Ugbo, said 27,000 people had benefited from N-Power and other social investment programmes of the Federal Government in the state, adding that the social investment programme was fighting unemployment and reducing poverty in the country.
Another PDP Member Defects To APC
Sanusi Maradun, a former Commissioner for Social Welfare in Zamfara, has defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
NAN reports that Maradun announced his defection on Saturday in Gusau, Zamfara State capital.
The politician said he decided to join the APC based on its success in retaining grassroots politics in the state.
Olusegun Obasanjo Mourns Yinka Odumakin
Olusegun Obasanjo on Saturday paid a condolence visit to the leader of the pan-Yoruba group, Afenifere, Pa Ayo Adebanjo, on the demise of the National Publicity Secretary of the group, Yinka Odumakin.
Obasanjo visited the nonagenarian at his Lagos residence to commiserate with him on the death of Odumakin, according to a report by Punch.
President Muhammadu Buhari has condemned the attack on three communities in Íshíelu Local Government Area of Ebonyi State by suspected Fulani herdsmen.
Naija News recalls that Governor David Umahi had accused Fulani herdsmen of killing 15 persons in the state on Monday night.
Speaking on Tuesday at Obegu, Umahi said the herdsmen allegedly perpetrated the mayhem carrying AK-47.
He revealed that he knows the sponsors of the herdsmen, vowing to expose them to the authorities.
