PDP Suspend Former Governorship Aspirant And Seven Others In Plateau State

The Working Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Plateau State has suspended eight members of the party for constituting a factional state’s Caretaker Committee including the former PDP governorship aspirant Mr Nandon Penap.

An ex-governorship aspirant in Plateau State under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Nandom Penap, has been suspended by the party.

A statement on Saturday by the Head of Media, State Caretaker Committee of the Party, John Akans said, “The working committee arm of the Plateau State Caretaker Committee at its emergency meeting held this evening (Friday) at state party’s Secretariat to review the unfortunate incidence that took place at the Secretariat where some group of rascals mischievously constituted themselves into a caretaker committee which is an affront to the national leadership of our party, under the leadership of His Excellency, Prince Uche Secondus.

The statement noted that the party after considering the weight of the allegations against them decided to suspend them, to ensure fairness, equity, and justice to be served in the matter.

The party said that the decision to suspend Mr Nandom Penap was to take at a meeting of the Plateau State Working Committee of the PDP which met yesterday. The party also said it had recommended that the national body of the PDP for appropriate disciplinary action.
