Mr Bayo Onanuga, Director, Media and Publicity of the PCC, while addressing newsmen on Thursday in Abuja said Tinubu was only concerned about the effects of the Naira swap and petroleum scarcity on the masses.
While the APC presidential contender was not opposed to the apex bank's cashless initiative, he claimed that the timing of its deployment was incorrect.
"Our candidate brought this up and informed the authorities. That government ought to come up with a remedy. I can confirm that there is no longer a fuel shortage in Abuja as of right now.
"I discovered that the petrol shortage in Lagos had also subsided. Fuel will soon be delivered to many stations in other parts of the nation, and this problem will be over.
"For the so-called currency exchange, our candidate is not opposed to a cashless society. He works as a CPA. He is aware of how these things operate. He is aware of the advantages for the economy," Onanuga remarked.
Onanuga questioned how the CBN's cashless strategy would function in a nation where over 60% of people don't have bank accounts and mainly rely on cash for day-to-day transactions.
He did, however, add that the CBN's choice to adopt a cashless policy was based on flawed and inaccurate figures that could not be corroborated by actual events.
