Africa as a continent has in one time or the other lost its president to the cold hand of death. To some extent these men(president) were extremely powerful and had authority. Power doesn't last forever. Hence, the need for everyone to make use of his power rightly because God Who owns our soul is the ultimate source of all powers.
1. John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills
Known as a scholar and politician. He was the president of Ghana from 2009 to 2012. His death came three days after he celebrated his 68th birthday. According to multiple reports, the late president died on 24 July 2012. Though the cause of his death was surrounded by controversies. His brother Dr Cadman Mills disclosed that he died of complications resulting from stroke.
2. Meles Zenawi
Died on 20 August 2012. Late president Meles Zenawi was the president of Ethiopia between 1995 and 2012. He was considered and seen as the founder of the Federal State of modern Ethiopia.
3. Micheal Sata
Former President of the Republic of Zambia Micheal Sata died in the United Kingdom on 28 October 2014. He was in power between 2011 and 214. His death came after suffering from an unknown illness.
He was the ninth president of Burundi and was the president for almost 15 years. His death came as a huge shock to people as he died at the age of 55 on 8 June 2020 of a heart attack.
5. Malam Bacai Sanha
He died in Paris, France on 9 January 2012 after a long battle with diabetes. Malam Bacai was the president of Guinea-Bissau from September 8 to 9 January 2012.
6. Lansana Conte
He was the second president of Guinea from 5 April 1984 to 22 December 2008. His death came after he suffered from an unknown illness. Died in Conakry Guinea on 22 December 2008.
7.Muhammad Muhammed Abu Minyaha al-Gaddafi
Al-Gaddafi was a political theorist, revolutionary and dictator. The late president was assassinated to death even while in power on 20 October 2011 in Sirte, Libya.
8. El Hadj Omar Bongo
Died in Spain on 8 June 2009. Omar Bongo was the president of Garbon for 42 years. Surrounded by controversies as to what caused the death of the late President. While some top media reported that he died of advanced cancer the government of Garbon insisted that he died of a heart attack. His death came shortly after the death of his wife.
9. Derby Idris
President Derby Idris of Chad Republic died hours ago of injuries sustained while commanding forces in the front fighting against rebels. He passed away at the age of 68 after he ruled his country for 30 years specifically from 2 December 1990 to 20 April 2021. He has been succeeded by his son.
