Personal Assistant to President Muhammadu Buhari on Social Media, Mrs. Lauretta Onochie has said that the former Governor of Kwara State, Abdulfatah Ahmed is being grilled by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
According to the statement she made on her official and verified Twitter handle, Mrs. Onochie said that Ahmed is being grilled for the 9 billion naira he diverted when he was a commissioner under Bukola Saraki and also when was the Governor of Kwara State. The Presidential Aide who is in support of President Buhari's fight against corruption didn't stated the source of her information. However a check on the official Twitter handle of the EFCC didn't state such even though Mrs. Onochie tagged the EFCC in her tweet.
However, the EFCC under Bawa has strengthened its fight against corruption and is going after past government officials who stole public fund. Abdulfatah Ahmed is the immediate past Governor of Kwara State. He was a commissioner in Kwara when Bukola Saraki was the Governor of that state. Both defected from the PDP to APC in 2015 and also returned to the umbrella party in 2019.
