Nigerians Slam Acting NDDC MD, Pondei, For ‘Fainting’ During Interrogation, Demand Continuation Of Probe
Prof Kemebradikumo Pondei, Acting Managing Director of the Niger Delta Development Commission, has been criticized by Nigerians for 'pretending' to have fainted during the agency's ongoing financial misappropriation check.
When speaking on the Committee of the House of Representatives investigating NDDC, Pondei fainted after falling short of the commission's response to spending, leading to an abrupt end to his grilling.
Unmoved by Pondei 's conduct, Nigerians have asked the Nigerian lawmakers to continue the commission's investigation of financial dealings.
Nigerians, who have taken to social media to express their frustration, said corrupt Nigerian politicians usually feigned illness when challenging their corrupt activities.
Saddiq Abba said, "I start to believe that in this world, we have some comedians and clowns in positions of authority. "I thought anything like that would happen last week when he said that he needed a doctor, now this! How much more ridiculous will we get here?
@Oluomoofderby tweeted, "They didn't crumble when he was stealing millions. They will pour water on him, fan him and proceed to ask. He should stop making himself a fool.'
Okeke Ngozi said, "No fainting while spending. Already that they have called for transparency, we have begun to faint. How do they still faint when they are called to court or for questioning? @JA Olaoye said: "False fainting.
When the thieves get ill they are being questioned immediately. Naughty hearts. Some fools will come here and talk about morality, and with retribution, God will hook them up too.
@Labaz1 tweeted, "There is a joke in Nigeria. Such men have robbed the Niger Delta 's prosperity, NDDC's MD 's body language suggests all of them are robberies. This must not escape Akpabio and his people.'
@omoayeni01 said, "One reality is that by tomorrow, Pondei must have been diagnosed with one serious ailment by a team of professional scammers, too, via fake medical records, all with the intention of undermining their purposely orchestrated massive investigation. Infinite drama.
@iam bussie tweeted, "To give account of their deeds is to a government official. Mr Pondei NDDC Acting MD is on the air and is playing a low session
"This looks like deja vu right for Nigerians. Pondei, Dino, Olisa Metuh Fayosa # NDDCProbe.
