The management of Dangote Cement Plc has made it known yesterday that the price of cement in Nigeria is lower than it price in other countries. They said the price of a bag of Dangote Cement from factory was between Two thousand, four hundred and fifty naira (#2,450) in Gboko and Obajana and Two thousand, five hundred and ten naira (#2,510) in Ibese, Tax inclusive.
According to report from Vanguard, the clarification came as result of recent news that went viral that the price at which the company sell cement in Nigeria is higher than other countries, especially in Zambia and Ghana.
Devakumar Edwin, Dangote's Group Executive Director, Strategy, Portfolio Development & Capital Projects frowned on the intentional demarketing and misinformation allegedly sponsored by some people that Dangote is selling it cement at higher price in Nigeria compare to other African countries.
He further discribed the allegation as a misleading and false one challenging the media to carry out independent investigation into the price of Dangote Cement in other African countries like Sierra Leone, Ghana and Zambia.
As we all know that several Nigerians reacted when the news surfaced online that the price of Dangote Cement in Nigeria is higher than other African countries. What do you think about what the group has just said?
