The Governor of Edo State said the recent actions and harsh criticism recieved from Oshiomole was as a result of his failure from ruling Edo State a third term using Obaseki as a proxy.

The Special Adviser to the Edo State Governor on Media and Communication Strategy, Mr Crusoe Osagie, has said the ex-national Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, Adams Oshiomhole, is disappointed because Governor Godwin Obaseki refused to be used in his quest to become a godfather in the state.
He also added that obviously Oshiomole as enthroned himself as the Godfather of Edo politics, which will be the opposite of what democracy entails, he is going against the will and wishes of the people of Edo State by toiling and deciding who deserves to takle the position of governor.
Nonetheless, Obaseki refusal to disregard the interest of the majority of Edo State for the satisfaction of Oshiomole is what is causing his bitterness, Obaseki said.
