In terms of economic development, Lagos State has been ahead of other States in the federation. For example, in the 2020 Internal Generated Revenue (IGR) of States in Nigeria, Lagos topped other states in the country after realising a total of N418.99bn.

Out of the total IGR of N1.31 trillion realised by the states in the country in 2020, Lagos alone contributed a share of 32.08 per cent.

It is as a result of this the lawmaker believed that the type of godfatherism in Lagos is a progressive one and argued that Tinubu's politiicial dominance in Lagos is healthy for the State.
