Three Reasons Why Goodluck Jonathan Should Not Run For President In 2023

The name Goodluck Ebele Johnathan is a very popular and distinct name in the world's politics especially in Africa. Dr Jonathan is a two term Bayelsa state governor. He served as a vice President under former president Umar Musa Yar'Adua before becoming the president after the demise of his boss. One of the most significant things he did that earned him a global accolade today was when he conceded victory to Buhari when it became obvious he was going to lose in 2015.

As 2023 draws nearer, what is not yet known is the subtle moves being made by some politicians to field Goodluck Jonathan in the 2023 Presidential election.

It is believe that being a respected former President, he would easily gather enough support nationwide to win the Presidential election, especially if he runs on a very popular platform.

But if I were him, I will advise him not to run for presidency because of these three reasons

1. Good name is better than riches: Dr. Jonathan now enjoys the prestige of walking the world stage as a respected former president. He is the ECOWAS special envoy.

2. With or without becoming a president, he is more popular than some nations presidents.

3. He is also being consulted by multilateral organizations to high-level international events, because of his pedigree as a global statesman.

What is your own view about this. Do you think he should run for president in 2023? Kindly drop a comment below.
