✓ BREAKING: Most NDDC contracts are handled by members of National AssemblyAkpabio

However, the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Godswill Akpabio has linked contracts awarded by the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC, to members of the National Assembly saying that majority of the contracts awarded were handled by the lawmakers.

Meanwhile, he made the disclosure while answering questions at the ongoing probe by the House of Representatives committee.

Moreover, according to Akpabio: “Most of the contracts at NDDC are handled by members of the National Assembly"

✓ Uzodinma to demolish illegal structures on govt lands

Meanwhile, Imo State Governor Hope Uzodinma on Monday warned that the government would soon commence demolition of properties illegally sited on government lands particularly structures built on Federal Government railway line.

However, the State Commissioner for Land, Survey and Physical Planning, Eyinnaya Onuegbu disclosed this in his office at the state secretariat, Owerri on Monday.

Moreover, according to him there would be no sacred cow, adding that federal parastatals also involved would be treated same way.

However, the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) on Monday advised President Muhammad Buhari, to stay focused in the fight against corruption, alleging that some powerful forces have resolved to thwart the war.

Meanwhile, the advice was contained in a letter by the council to the President, a copy of which was made available to the newsmen pledging support, solidarity and prayers for the administration to end well.

Meanwhile, the Sultan of Sokoto Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has urged Muslims across the country to look out for the new moon of Zulhijja 1441 AH from Tuesday, which is equivalent to 29th day of Zulki’ida 1441 AH.

However, rhe new moon of Zulhijja 1441 will signify the Eid-el Kabir Sallah festivity after observance of the Mount Arafat religious right.

Moreover, the Chairman Advisory Committee on Religious Affairs Prof. Sambo Wali Junaidu, in a statement on Monday called on Muslims to report the sighting of the new moon to the nearest district or village head for onward communication to the Sultan.

✓ 5 men allegedly rape 10-year-old girl in Kaduna

Meanwhile, a 10-year-old girl from Igabi Local Government Area of Kaduna State allegedly raped by five men, including her aunt’s husband has been rescued by youths in the area.

However, report has it that the victim is now in the custody of one Hajiya Rabi Salisu of Arida Foundation of Nigeria AFN, after her mother reported her to her aunt’s husband.
