As they say, a man may die but the good works he did will continue to live after them. A man would always be remembered for what he left behind while alive or while in a position of responsibility. Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio is still alive but he keeps being remembered for the good works he did while he was the executive governor of Akwa Ibom State.
Yesterday was the burial of one of the statesmen in Akwa Ibom State, Air Marshal Nsikak Eduok. Other personalities from within and outside the state attended the burial. But there was a great spectacular scene immediately Distinguished Senator Godswill Obot Akpabio arrived the burial arena.
As the Minister was approaching the burial ground, a great crowd of people were sighted leaving the burial ground, running after his convoy, hailing and chanting some solidarity songs.
Akpabio, in his usual manner, the senator lowered down his vehicle and waved back to the people with a smile of love for his people.
Many Akwa Ibomites still love and miss the generosity and kindheartedness of senator Godswill Akpabio. If they have any option, many of them would prefer Akpabio to return and govern the state again.
