Indeed, Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu may still have one more hurdle to overcome in their bid to be re elected as Edo State governor and deputy governor respectively.
Foremost lawyer and Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Chief Wole Olanipekun is leading other SANs in cases of certificate forgery and perjury established against governor Obaseki and his deputy, Philip Shaibu.
The All Progressive Congress (APC) and a member of the party, Edobor Williams established the cases against Obaseki and his deputy at the Federal High Court in Benin City, the Edo State capital.
The APC as well as Williams are asking the Federal High Court to disqualify the duo from contesting the coming Governorship election that is scheduled to hold on September 19 in the state as well as stopping any candidate the People's Democratic party will want to contest.
It will be recalled that, Obaseki defected from from All Progressive Congress ( APC) to People's Democratic party ( PDP) over crisis that bordered on certificate as well as the feuds between Obaseki and the former national chairman of APC, Adams Oshiomhole.
