Arthur Eze threatens Obiano with Court action over non-payment of 5% LG allocation to monarchs

Billionaire oil mogul, Prince Arthur Eze has threatened to drag to court, Anambra State Governor, Chief Willie Obiano over non-payment of five percent Local Government allocation to traditional rulers in the state.

He accused the governor of siphoning the federal allocations accruable to the 21 Councils as well as diverting the billions he gave him towards the security of lives and property of the people of the state.

Addressing reporters weekend in his Ukpo country home in Dunukofia Local Government Area of the state shortly after a meeting with traditional rulers in the state, Eze said he would no longer tolerate Obiano's excesses.

He regretted the various anomalies in the state, including non conduct of Local Government election in the state.

He further described the ongoing airport project in Umueri as deceptive, wondering why it was difficult for the governor to establish industries to provide jobs for the unemployed youths to justify the Local Government allocations.

He said, "Obiano has the courage to write a frivolous petition against me for citing Zone 13 Police Command at Ukpo, instead of Aguleri, his home town, only to turn back and apologize for the petition, after the police authorities investigated and found out that the Command location was reasonable.

"I'll be filling a suit in the Federal High Court court demanding him to account for the monies he had received on behalf of the state and the local governments and the Internally Generated Revenues.

"He will also explain his failure to conduct Local Government elections in the 21 council areas of the state since he assumed office in 2014, thus pocketing all the council allocations from the federation account on monthly basis."

The Oil magnet asked the traditional rulers to appoint a delegation of about 10 or more from the state to represent them and follow him to Aso Rock to meet face to face with Buhari to give him special thanks for his mutual love for Ndigbo.

He said, "Buhari loves Ndigbo so much and I'll lead you to him to thank him and ask him for more in the area of River Niger dredging so that our consignments will come to Onitsha through the river. But you need to appoint 10 delegates to make your case. The North likes us much more than we even like ourselves. I have no problem with them. We must befriend and reconcile with them to get our fare share".

Earlier, the traditional rulers in the state had extolled President Buhari for his efforts in building infrastructures in the region, including the on-going construction of the second Niger bridge, the Onitsha-Enugu-PH road and the Enugu international airport.

Speaking on behalf of the monarchs, the traditional ruler, Ukwulu, Peter Uyanwa who is the Chairman of Anambra Central Council of Traditional rulers, his Anambra North counterpart, Igwe Rowland Odegbo of Nteje, his Nawfia counterpart, Chijioke Nwankwo, among others called for the dredging of the River Niger to facilitate transportation and boost commercial activities in the state in particular and Igbo land in general.

The royal fathers commended the philanthropic disposition of Prince Eze, adding that at the appropriate, the monarchs in the state would reward him with a special package as a true son of the soil.

"We'll give you an award to prove to you that we are happy with what you're doing. Your love for traditional rulers is unparalleled," they added.

On his part, South East Zonal chairman, Miyeti Allah Cattle Breeders Association, Gidado Siddiki assured the cooperation of the Hausa Fulani community to their host, even as he frowned at the labeling of his members as rapists, killers, bandits and all sorts of things, absolving them of such vices.

He appealed to the people of the area not to take laws into their hands in the events of crises, but to report such to the relevant authorities.
