Two female Commissioner nominees recently screened by the Kwara State House of Assembly have been confirmed and sworn-in by Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq.

Mr Harriet Adenike Oshatimehin was sworn-in as Commissioner for Ministry of Youth Development, while Florence Olasumbo was sworn-in as Commissioner of Finance.

Upon engaging the female commissioners in the new assignment, Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq urged them to be key players and key into the commitment of the administration in order to rebuild the state for greatness.
Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq statement read below:
"Revenue is drying up, yet our administration is confronted with huge challenges, especially on human capital and infrastructural developments and their is an urgent need to lift as many people as possible out of poverty.
"As you are aware, Kwara State in undergoing a rebuilding process, discipline, prudence, team work and sacrifice have been our watchdog.
"Every penny is being channeled to tackle this and that is why you were appointed. The administration has a duty to chart a substantial course of our state and that is why we can not afford to be flamboyant or wasteful."

Governor Abdulrazaq also made another appointment in another department, by approving the appointment of Abdulganiyu Sani, a chartered account, as the new Accountant-General of the state. Sani is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accounts of Nigeria (ICAN), Association of National Accountants of Nigeria (ANAN), Nigeria Institute Management, National Institute of Marketing and Institute of Management Consultants.
The appointment of Sani followed the inclusion of a process that began with an advertorial announcing the vacancy for the office in line with the law.
