President Muhammadu Buhari's Eid al-Fitr message to Nigerians

President Muhammadu Buhari has sent his best wishes to all Nigerians and Muslims as they mark the Eid Al Fitr.

He said we should jointly pray against the tragic incidents of kidnapping and banditry and the desperate quest for political power that made some use blackmail against the existence of our country as a united entity.

He begged the political and religious leaders as well as traditional rulers to encourage citizens to show compassion and love one another.

Millions of Muslim faithful in Nigeria are celebrating the festival of Eid-al-Fitri.

According to the President, it is noteworthy and delightful to see Christians breaking fast with Muslim faithful during the Ramadan.

The President added that in some instances he noticed how Christians sent goodwill and gifts to Muslims. So this model has also shown that Muslim groups join Christian festivities and this practice promote brotherhood and forgiveness.
