Is Shekarau Right By Saying That Southern Govs Issued Threats By Demanding For Southern Presidency?

Former Governor of Kano State, Ibrahim Shekarau has stated that the Southern Governors issued threats to get the 2023 Presidential slot.

Ibrahim Shekarau, who represents Kano Central in the red chamber of the National Assembly stated this while featuring on a Channels Television live programme.

The outspoken politician urge the southern Governors to stop 'ganging up' and 'issuing threats' to get the 2023 presidential slot.

He urged the Southern Governors to desist from instigating other groups in the country from making similar demands that would heat up the polity.

Shekarau, who was a former Minister of Education however stated that the All Progressive Congress should zone its presidential ticket to the South to give “a sense of belonging” to every Nigerian.

Did the Southern Governors actually issued threats concerning the demand for Southern presidency as stated by Senator Ibrahim Shekarau?

I don't think the Southern Governors issued threats concerning the demand for southern presidency in 2023.

The Governors in the southern region of Nigeria only exercised their freedom of expression which is enshrined in the constitution. The Governors also spoke the mind of the majority of the southerners who wants power to return to their region in 2023 after President Muhammadu Buhari who hails from the Northern region would have spent 8 years in office.

The Southern Governors did not issue any threats but only fighting for the rights of the people they are leading.
