The Nigerian leader, President Muhammdu Buhari has said that he was prepared to lay down his life for Nigeria, the day he joined the Nigerian army.
He said:
" The day i joined the Nigerian army, I was prepared to lay down my life for Nigeria."
President Buhari who joined the Nigerian army over 55 years ago, made the disclosure on Saturday, June 12, during his Democracy Day broadcast.
According to him, he has been very committed to working towards the success of Nigeria, and upholding the country's corporate existence.
Buhari further explained that throughout his tenure, he has been providing the military officers with equipment they need to fight insecurity, which is currently facing the country.
He assured Nigerians that he will do all within his power to ensure that the security and welfare of the citizens remains the government's primary assignment.
