Presidential Election: Obi Defeated Tinubu In Lagos Because PDP Members Voted For Him - Jandor

In the wake of the Labour Party's stunning victory in Lagos during the presidential election in the state over a week ago, the gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Dr. Abdul-Azeez Adediran popularly known as Jandor has come out to insist that Obi wouldn't have defeated Tinubu in his stronghold without the help of the former ruling party.

Speaking during an interview on Channels TV's 'Politics Today' with Seun Akinbaloye on Monday night, Jandor dismissed notions that his counterpart in the Labour Party, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour will get the same amount of votes Obi got, insisting that PDP members in the state also supported the former Anambra governor to victory during the presidential elections in the state.

"If you look at what happened last week in Lagos, it was very unusual in our political space. Everybody that took part in that election voted for Peter Obi. They voted for personality. A lot of people flew into the country, voted for Obi, and then went back.

Also, when you look at what played out in that election, ethnicity, and religion were major factors and our candidate (Atiku) only had a few people supporting him in Lagos. So, most of the people that voted for Obi were PDP members, especially in Lagos West. He defeated Tinubu because PDP supporters voted for him. Even our House of Reps candidate in Eti Osa lost to the Labour Party flag bearer there because of the Peter Obi effect."
