During an interview with Arise News, the National Legal Adviser of the Labour Party, Kehinde Edun, said, "I want to state this clearly, that the Labour Party(LP) will fight with INEC over our register of members". We do not agree with what happened; we have not seen the judgment; we have only seen the judgment order that is flying around, and we are going to get the judgment tomorrow, look at it, and file an appeal for it to be set aside.
According to him, "The judge only expressed an opinion of what he thinks the law is, but I want to state this clearly: that the labor party will fight with INEC over our register of members. We never shared that responsibility; we filed our register of members, and it is in our province to say who our members are. A political party is supreme over its affairs, and the issue of membership is the political party that can say these are my members.
