Why Nigeria Needs Goodluck Jonathan Back Again

Goodluck Ebele Jonathan GCFR, GCON was the President of Nigeria from 2010 to 2015. He lost the 2015 presidential election to former military ruler Muhammadu Buhari, becoming the first incumbent president to concede electoral defeat. I would describe Goodluck ebele Jonathan as the most persecuted president of Nigeria, despite his love and goodwill for the country. He loved Nigeria much that he respected our democracy more than any other leader served in his capacity. The election that brought the president of Nigeria, Mohmmadu Buhari, which was nationally and internationally acclaimed as the most democratic election ever conducted in Nigeria was held under Jonathan's administration. He was indeed a democrat! The economy of Nigeria flourished so much under Goodluck Jonathan's administration, yet he was still hated by the people of Nigeria. They called him a weakling. They insulted and abused him for no reason. Terrorism was instituted to make people lose confidence in the innocent man's administration. The war against terrorism which he was determined to win was sabotaged by unscrupulous persons who used the opportunity to accumulate a fortune. Goodluck's administration met an injustifiable opposition from the people of Nigeria.

However, as it keeps scorching harder under the current administration, there is a need for a man like Jonathan to come back and finish the good work he started. Today, we are starved of democracy, security, good economy, and responsible leadership. Goodluck, as a learned president, understood the economy of Nigeria and worked with the right people to produce positive results. We need him to salvage Nigeria from the verge of extinction.
