Let us take a look at four notable former Governors who are now Senators of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. 

1. Ibikunle Amosun :

Ibikunle Amosun was a two-term Governor of Ogun State in the South West region of Nigeria. He was succeeded by the incumbent Governor, Dapo Abiodun.

Amosun who was a former lawmaker is now the incubemt Senator representing Ogun Central in the National Assembly. 

2. Rochas Owelle Okorocha :

Rochas Owelle Okorocha is a big player in the politics of Nigeria. The outspoken politician and Igbo leader is the incumbent Senator representing Imo West in the National Assembly.

3. Orji Uzor Kalu :

Orji Uzor Kalu is the present majority leader in the red chamber of the National Assembly. He was a two-term Governor of Abia State. The prominent politician was jailed for embezzlement of funds but was released from prison after a court ruling.

4. Kashim Shettima :

Kashim Shettima is the immediate past Governor of Borno State. He is now the present Senator representing Borno Central Senatorial district in the National Assembly.
