US Government Condemns Boko Haram Attack On Damasak, Borno

The Security challenges confronting the North Eastern part of the country have become a major source of concern for the federal government as well as the international community.

The recent spate of attacks on Damasak town in Borno State have attracted the attention of the United States of American government.

According to season broadcaster and staff of TVC, Babajide Otitoju Kolade, at least 100,000 Damasak residents have fled their homes to neighboring Niger Republic, as Boko Haram attacked the Local Government headquarters for the fifth time in 2 weeks.

The US government through its mission in Nigeria, condemned the recent attack on Damasak in its totality. "The Embassy of the United States condemns the recent attack on Damasak town in Borno State." the message reads.

The US embassy also described the attack on people providing Humanitarian assistance as an attack on humanity.

"Attacks on humanitarian partners represent an affront to humanity."

The US government also sympathize with the people who might be affected in the recent attack by the insurgents. "Our deepest condolences to the families of the victims and all Nigerians. #NotATarget."

However, it should go beyond condemning. US government and President Joe Biden must show genuine support, by commanding African troops to team up with Nigerian Army to take out these terrorists that carried out the "recent attacks on Damasak town" and operating in other parts of the North East. It's about time.

Kindly share your thoughts about what you think should be done about the attack and how Nigeria will experience everlasting peace.
