Nigerian National Intelligence Agency Got 4.87 Billion Naira To Track What's App and Phone Calls

The Nigerian National Assembly under the leadership of Senator Ahmed Lawn has approved a budget of N4.87 Billion Naira for the National Intelligence Agency to intercept, track, monitor calls and messages on Phones and Thuraya.

The money is part of the supplementary budget submitted to the National Assembly by the Federal Government of Nigeria for approval last month and the supplementary budget was approved by both Chambers of the Federal Legislative Parliament.

The total amount of the supplementary budget submitted by President Muhammadu Buhari is 895.8 Billion Naira. The National Intelligence Agency got 4.87 Billion Naira for Intelligence gathering and security of the country.

The National Intelligence Agency would Spend 1.93 Billion Naira on What's app interception and 2.93 Billion on Thuraya interception. These may be connected to the security situation of the country and the increase in the crime rate in Nigeria. Despite the interception of the Men of the Nigerian Army and Police the worrisome situation of insecurity in the country may have prompted the National Intelligence Agency to seek a budget for tracking Phones, What's app and Thuraya. In addition to that the National Intelligence Agency got 129 Million Naira for foreign training of personnel.
