Will Prof. Osinbajo be a better Candidate For APC as stated by Governor of Nasarawa State in 2023?

As the 2023 general election draws near, many political parties have started looking keenly and weighing their members who have the qualities or what it takes to succeed President Muhammadu Buhari when he leaves office in 2023.

All Progressive Congress (APC) party, which is the ruling party is also on the hunt to get a candidate that will capture the interests of Nigerians to vote for the party in the coming general election. There have been several speculations that the APC party will choose the former governor of Lagos State, Bola Tinubu, as the successor of President Muhammadu Buhari when his tenure ends in 2023. We still don't know how true that could be until the party comes out to declare him as its presidential candidate.

However, the Governor of Nasarawa state, Abdullahi Sule, also raised a suggestion on who the party can use to win the 2023 election. Gov. Abdullahi Sule who is also a member of APC said it would be of great advantage to the party if the present Vice-president, Yemi Osinbanjo, will be the Presidential candidate of APC. He said the party will support Prof. Osinbanjo If he should show interest in becoming a President.

Gov. Abdullahi Sule said the concern of APC right now is how to sustain the party beyond President Buhari. He proposed that Prof. Osinbajo is sellable, looking at his background records and he wants the party to use a person like him to run for the presidential seat. Abdullahi Sule said it will be good for both the party and the nation to have a candidate like Osinbajo.

Recall that the vice-president, Yemi Osinbajo, has not shown any interest in running for the political post. However, looking at the ideas of the governor of Nasarawa, will it be right for APC to pick Osinbajo as its presidential candidate for the 2023 general election?
