Obi unprepared, undemocratic, may fail — LP .

FEW days to the presidential election, slated February 25, the North-East Chairmen of the Labour Party, LP, say as a result of alleged undemocratic internal activities of the party’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, the party is bound to fail during the poll.

This they said was coming on the heels of Obi’s failure to recognise the important role of the 36 state chapters leadership but would rather choose to work with cronies and support groups.

The Chairman, LP, Gombe State and Coordinating Chairman for 36 states of the Federation, Alhaji Sani Abdulsalam, spoke on behalf of others, such as: Chairman Yobe State, Alhaji Ibrahim Mohammad Bukar; and the National Vice Chairman, North East, Alhaji Mohammed Alkaji, during a press briefing, in Abuja.

Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has said history would speak more eloquently on the stewardship of the Buhari presidency.

According to him, the many testimonials of beneficiaries of different programmes under the administration are already clear testament that inspire hope and belief that Nigeria can be transformed in the current generation.

Osinbajo made spoke yesterday at the unveiling of the PMB Legacy Assured, a compendium of achievements of President Muhammadu Buhari’s two terms captured by the ministerial scorecard series organised by the minister of information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed.

Speaking at the event held at the State House Banquet Hall in Abuja, the vice president noted that the millions of beneficiaries of several people-friendly schemes of the Buhari administration such as the Social Investment Programmes (SIP), among others, “are real people provided with a springboard to do more for themselves and for their communities; real people inspired to hope and believe that Nigeria can be positively transformed in our lifetime.”

Elections: APC worked hard, deserves victory –Adamu.

The National Chairman of the All progressives Congress, Abdullahi Adamu, has said the party has worked hard and deserves victory at the forthcoming polls.

Adamu said this while speaking with newsmen on Wednesday in Abuja on the party’s chances.

“The APC is fully prepared and ready to go into this election. For us as a party, the only result we expect from this election is victory. We have worked hard, really hard.

“No party has been able to put up a robust campaign like the APC did.

“I am sure that the efforts we have put into this campaign will definitely result in successes at the polls.

“And, by the grace of God, we shall surely come out of this Saturday presidential election victorious party,” Adamu said,.

He called on the party supporters and agents to conduct themselves peacefully and to be very vigilant going into the polls.

He also urged parties to support the Independent National Electoral Commission towards conducting an election that would meet every standard.

Fresh cracks appeared to have hit the Labour Party as state chairmen allege being neglected by their presidential candidate, Peter Obi, in the running of campaign and mobilisation activities, a few days before the election.

According to them, Obi has failed to recognise the important role of the 36 state chapters’ leadership but rather choose to work with cronies and support groups.

The Gombe State LP chairman and co-ordinating chairman for the 36 States, Sani Abdulsalam at a press conference in Abuja on Thursday, said such tendencies could affect the party’s performance at the polls.

BREAKING: Buhari Arrives Katsina Ahead Of Saturday’s Presidential Poll.

President Muhammadu Buhari has arrived in Katsina State, from where he would proceed to Daura, his home town ahead of Saturday’s Presidential election.

Buhari touched down at Umaru Musa Yar’ Adua Airport, Katsina at exactly 4:40 pm

He will be casting his vote in Daura later on Saturday.Prior to leaving Abuja for Katsina, on Thursday, Buhari had summoned a Security Council Meeting, where he met with heads of security agencies to intimate them on the need to protect electorates and ensure the elections are hitch free.

Buhari had also met with the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Prof. Mahmood Yakubu in Abuja, where he had admonished him to ensure the elections are conducted freely, fair and credible.
