On a chat with Channels Television on Tuesday, Senior Special Adviser to the President (Media and Publicity), Garba Shehu noted that Nigerians will be shocked when details of the Investigation on how sums of money were being transffered to the group would be fully revealed.
Shehu hinted that the list of sponsors include some bureau de change operators with International contacts.
He went further to say that intelligence reports have shown that worship centres in the country were being used to harbour killers of security agents agents in the country.
Shehu assured Nigerians that heads of intelligence agencies are currently working tirelessly on their Investigations and all will soon be revealed.
N2.1bn arms real: Appeal Court acquits Dokpesi, DAAR Investment.
The Court of Appeal sitting in Abuja has discharged media owner and politician, Chief Raymond Dokpesi and his company, DAAR Investment and Holding Company Limited, of charges of money laundering.
The initial charges were based on the breach of Procurement Act in relation to disbursement of the N2.1billion meant for arms purchase while Sambo Dasuki was the National Security Adviser (NSA) in 2014.
Dokpesi and DAAR Investment were being tried before the Federal High Court on a seven country charge of money laundering and breach of procurement Act by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
A three-man panel of Court of Appeal on Thursday upheld the two appeals by Dokpesi and his company, setting aside an earlier ruling of a Federal High Court, Abuja, which rejected the no-case submissions made by the appellants.
Ebonyi Killings: No more Open grazing in Ebonyi State - ALGON
On the heels of the gruesome murder of at least 15 persons in three communities in Ebonyi State, the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Ebonyi State chapter, has vowed to resist open grazing of cows in all councils of the state.
The association made this vow on Wednesday, after a meeting in Abakiliki.
Public Relations Officer (ALGON), Chief Paul Nwogha told newsmen after it's meeting that the decision was taken by chairmen of 13 LGAs and coordinators of 64 CDAs in the state.
According to Nwogha, the association supports the law against open grazing and warned that anyone engaging in the act would be resisted.
The association also seized the opportunity to give state security agencies 72 hours to fish out those responsible for the killings.
INEC unveils new technology for continuous voter registration
According to The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), it now has a new technology that enable it resume it's previously suspended voter's registration exercise.
The Chairman of the Commission, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, at a news briefing on Thursday said that the exercise would last till the third quarter of 2022.
According to Yakubu, the Commission has now replaced the Director Data Capture Machine (DDCM), which was unveiled in 2011 for voter registration with a new technology it called 'INEC Voter Enrolment Device (IVED).
The previous voter registration exercise started from April 27, 2017 until August 31, 2018 when it was suspended.
Yakubu added that the Commission is building a new online registration portal that would enable new registrants to commenced registration online and subsequent complete the capture of their biometric data at designated registration centres.
Former Minister escapes death as unknown gunmen attack his home in Plateau.
Former Minister for Sports, Damishi Sango, on Wednesday night escaped death as unknown gunmen attacked his home in Ganawuri Room Local Government Area of Plateau State.
Sango who is also the immediate past Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State, was said to be home with his family when the gunmen came, but he escaped unhurt.
However, a security detail and a worker attached to the former minister were shot.
Spokesman for the Plateau State Police Command, Gabriel Uba confirmed the incident , adding that the State Commissioner of police and his team had visited the crime scene.
Gov. Dapo Abiodun inaugurates Amotekun in Ogun State.
Ogun State Governor, Prince Dapo Abiodun has on Thursday, innaugurated the state security outfit, otherwise known as Amotekun Corps. in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
In his ceremonial speech, the governor disclosed that the operatives of the Amotekun security outfit had be carefully selected and trained to secure lives and properties.
Abiodun also noted that the state had provides the outfit with motorcycles, vehicles and communication gadgets as well as technical back-up and the political will to enable the operatives carry out their duties effectively.
The event had in attendance the Alake of Egbaland, Oba Adedotun Gbadebo, Nobel Laurate, Professor Wole Soyinka amongst others.
