A BBC News Pidgin journalist spoke with a demonstrator by the name of Sunday Ayeni, and he stated the following:
"We are protesting because we don't want a repetition of June 12. We have accepted Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu as our president and we are standing on his mandate.

"We are calling on the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Professor Mahmoud Yakubu, to ensure that no one truncates the electoral process. He should also make sure that there will be no rerun of the concluded presidential election.
