Lawmaker slumps, dies 3 months after assumption of office

Mr. Kenneth Ogba, a member of the Delta State House of Assembly, died three months after taking office.

The lawmaker was brought to the hospital after collapsing after attending a celebration in Oleh, Isoko South Local Government Area of the state.

Unfortunately, doctors verified Ogba's death when he failed to make it into the hospital's ward.

Agitators are same with Boko Haram - Gumi

Sheikh Ahmad Gumi, a well-known Islamic cleric, has slammed people advocating for Biafra and the Oduduwa Republic.

Gumi said only useless youths are calling for the disintegration of Nigeria.

Gumi told BBC Pidgin that the majority of Nigerians want to stay as Nigerians, and that those advocating for the country's breakup should be ignored.

Those agitating for Biafra, Oduduwa Republic, are the same with Boko Haram, according to the Kaduna-based cleric.

Sanwo-Olu felicitates with Fashola at 58

On the occasion of his 58th birthday, Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu (SAN), congratulated former Governor of the State and current Minister of Works and Housing, Mr Babatunde Fashola (SAN).

Sanwo-Olu characterized Fashola as a seasoned administrator, legal icon, and technocrat who has used his abilities and positions in various capacities for the progress of Lagos State and Nigeria, according to a statement released on Monday by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr Gboyega Akosile.

He said that throughout his eight years as Governor of Lagos State, Fashola lifted the bar in corporate governance and administration, with a long list of notable accomplishments.

Oba Benjamin Oso’s abductors demand N20m ransom

Oba Benjamin Oso, the abductors of Eleda of Eda Ile in Ekiti State, has demanded N20 million in ransom for the monarch's release.

On Friday, the monarch and his wife were kidnapped from their farm in Eda-Ile.

According to family sources, the abductors called the traditional ruler's family on Saturday and wanted N20 million.
