Presidency Reply Those Asking Why Buhari Did Not Handover Power To His Vice Before Leaving To London

The medical trip of the president in London has been stirring reactions from different Nigerians, both home and abroad in less than 24 hours of his travel.

There had been talks about why president Buhari did not transfer power to his vice, Prof Yemi Osinbajo while on his medical trip. But the presidency has come out to say that Buhari will rule Nigeria from the UK.

This was contained in a statement by the Special Assistance to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu when he appeared on Channels Television on Tuesday.

Garba said transfer of power to the vice president was not necessary and that the president did not go against any law for not transferring power to his vice.

He explained that the president was only spending two weeks in London and does not need to hand over power to his vice since the Constitution states that the president is to handover power if he will be outside the country for 21 days and more.

Garba insisted that the president will rule Nigeria from wherever he is and do not need to hand over power to his vice
