The Economic And Financial Crimes Commission has picked up the former governor of Kwara state, senator Bukola Saraki and detained him in their facility. The anti corruption agency is at the time of filing this report grilling the former senate president over committing some alleged crimes.
The former governor is facing questions of misappropriation of public funds and money laundering by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission. This is not the first time Bukola Saraki had an encounter with the anti corruption agency. When he was leading the senate as its president he battled with the agency and Code of Conduct Bureau over crime of non declaration of assets. The case was fought from Code of Conduct Tribunal up to the Supreme Court. He fortunately won at the the apex court and that ended his legal travails at that time.
