Reports coming from the DailyPost NG indicates that there has been a fall-out between the Igbo community leader and a group known as the Nka Ikemesit Mkparawa Essien Efik Duob-Eba, which has reportedly given the Head of Igbo community in Calabar a 7-day ultimatum to vacate the town of Calabar or face consequences. This order according to the DailyPost NG was contained in a statement issued on Thursday.
The Statement which was signed by Ekpo Ekeng, Adim Ekpenyong, Ekpenyong Bassey and Christy Edem Bassey who happen to be the Chairman, Vice Chairman, Secretary and Assistant Secretary respectively, was also made available to the press.
The group lamented the insult allegedly rained on the Obong of Calabar by the Eze Ndigbo. The group alledged that the Head Of the Igbo community in the town claimed to be the Obong of Calabar, as opposed to the reality on ground.
“For disrespecting the Obong of Calabar and crowning yourself as the Obong of Calabar when Obong is still hale and healthy on the throne , you have been given 7 days to vacate the town...” the order reads. It was gathered that the incident alledgedly took place on the 27th of March 2021, during the award given to Innoson Motors at the University of Calabar.
