Ahead of the forthcoming elections in Ondo state, 12 candidates of the All Progressive Congress will be jostling the position. They include the incumbent governor of the state, Arakunrin Rotimi Akeredolu, Joseph Iji, Segun Abraham, Olayide Adelami, Kekemeke Isaac, Chief Olusola Oke (SAN), Ifeoluwa Oyedele, Odimayo John, Olajumoke Anifowoshe, Awodeyi Akinsehinwa, Olubukola Olarogha and Nathaniel Adojutelegan.
Of all the candidates, one who is considered to be the most preferred by is Chief Olusola Oke, peradventure he wins the primary election.
Olusola Alexander Oke is a Nigerian lawyer and politician. He was born on the 7th of April, 1956 in Ilowo, a coastal town in Ilaje Local government Area of Ondo State. He is a member of Nigerian Bar Association. His professional practice had earned him the opportunity to blossom in politics and to join others in liberating his people.
Chief Oke was elected a member, Federal House of Representatives representing Ilaje/Ese-odo federal constituency in 1992. In 2012, he was a governorship candidate in Ondo state in the 2012 gubernatorial election. In one of the televised interview before the election, Olusola Oke was adjudged winner by a vast majority of the viewers simply because he exhibited candour, depth and came out smoking hot. Though he later lost the election.
In 2016, Olusola oke was denied the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship ticket. This made him to decamp to the Alliance for Democracy (AD) after the APC primaries where he contested as governor but lost to Akeredolu. Currently, he is a member of the All Progressive Congress.
Ahead of the elections, APC Unity Forum has adopted Olusola Oke as their consensus candidate. While presenting his nomination form, he promised to reduce poverty, to generate employment, create wealth to the people and return them to the pride people they used to be. There will be a new lease of life and Ondo will rise again and the sun will shine again.
With his vast experiences in politics and his sound academic background in conjunction with the sweet promises made, the people of Ondo State may be welcoming a new governor soon.
