The president-elect, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, issued a statement today in reaction to certain misinterpretations of some of the statements and stories he made yesterday while commissioning a project in Rivers state.
Bola Ahmed Tinubu gave a speech in Porthartcourt, the state capital of Rivers, on his second day there. He made it clear that they had distorted his previous day's statements.
The former governor of Lagos State acknowledged that he doesn't want to dispute with anyone, calling such an act "poverty of thought." He continued, saying that despite the fact that he was speaking to everyone. He insisted that they get along and tolerate one another because he still loved them all.
He declared, "We must tenaciously combat poverty." Poor reasoning and logic, like the perversion they gave my story yesterday, are examples of poor thinking. I still adore you and don't want to dispute with anyone, but I feel compelled to voice my viewpoint on this. We are on the same team, therefore we need to put our differences aside and get along.
As you may recall, Governor Wike brought Bola Ahmed Tinubu to Rivers State to commission a project, and on that day, as president-elect, he said a number of things, and had prompted people to respond in a variety of ways.
