The Muslim Rights Concern has sent a message to the embattled Minister of Communication and Digital Economy, Isa Pantami urging him not to be disturbed by calls from some Nigerians for his resignation.
According to a statement by its Director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, the group said that those behind this calls are afraid of the NIN registration project because it will expose their atrocities.
The group urged Isa Pantami to remain focused and ensure that he finishes the NIN registration exercise that he initiated.
"The campaign of calumny is being pushed by forces against the Federal Government’s NIN policy, Boko Haram terrorists, bandits, criminals in general and political IDPs (Internally Displaced Politicians). No one who has the love of Nigeria at heart will support such a malicious and frivolous allegation", Prof. Ishaq Akintola said.
According to Today NG, the group said that the politicians who are sponsoring this campaign against Isa Pantami are those who want to ensure that the federal government does not complete any project it started.
They also said that the negative effect of Isa Pantami resigning at this time is enormous and will cause more damage to the nation because whoever will be appointed as the new minister will always shift blames if anything goes wrong in the NIN registration project.
What do you think about this?
Should Isa Pantami resign or not?
