The crisis bedeviling the Rivers State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) took another twist Monday as embattled former Caretaker Committee Chairman, Barrister Isaac Ogbobula resumed office at the factional Garrison office of the party.
Recall a Rivers State High Court had in June sacked the Ogbobula committee and replaced it Igo Aguma as Statutory Committee Chairman.
Aguma had himself equally been sacked by majority members of the state statutory committee and replaced by Hon. Sokonte Davies; a move that was short-lived as Justice Chuku of the Rivers High Court ordered Aguma to return as Chairman.
However the Ogbobula exco is hinging it's latest action on Thursday's Appeal Court Ruling which ordered a stay of execution on all pending litigations in the party.
Meanwhile earlier on Monday, Aguma initiated a Contempt proceedings against Hon Sokonte Davis, Sen. Andrew Uchendu & Ors.
The case came up today before Hon. Justice George Omereji and has been adjourned to 29th July, 2020 for hearing.
If found guilty the contemnors may each be sentenced to 3months imprisonment.
