Obaseki Destroy Pius Odubu's House
On Tuesday, Edo state government destroyed the residence of former deputy governor, Dr Pius Odubu situated at Dennis Osadebey Avenue GRA in Benin City.
The property was being occupied by the younger brother to Odubu as at the time of the demolition.
Also destroyed were properties belonging to a former Secretary to State Government (SSG) and present member representing Owan Federal Constituency, Professor Julius Ihonvbere and that of sports marketer, Mike Etemuagbo.
Senate Confirms Wakil Bukar As Federal Civil Service Commissioner
The Senate has confirmed the nomination of Wakil Bukar by President Muhammadu Buhari as Commissioner for the Federal Civil Service Commission.
The confirmation of the nominee at Tuesday’s plenary followed the consideration of a report by the Senate Committee on Establishment and Public Service.
Presenting the report, the Chairman of the committee, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, said the nominee possessed the requisite constitutional requirements specified under "the provisions of section 156 of the constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended)" that qualifies him to be appointed as a commissioner in the Federal Civil Service Commission.
Buhari Gives Reason For Preserving Public Jobs
President Muhammadu Buhari has said that the commitment of his administration to the welfare of workers in Nigeria is evident in several Federal Government policies.
This, he said, includes the legislation of the minimum wage, tax exemption for minimum wage earners and the preservation of public service jobs in spite of two recessions, among others.
Buhari, who was represented by Vice president, Prof Yemi Osinbajo, made this statement earlier today at the opening session of the 2021 National Labour Advisory Council.
Tinubu Backed For Presidency
The former Senate Deputy Minority Chief Whip and a frontline All Progressives Congress (APC) member, Senator Abu Ibrahim, has said Nigeria will be safe under Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, if he is voted as the President in 2023.
The Katsina State-born former lawmaker spoke at the weekend in Abuja during the inauguration of Bola Tinubu Support Organisation (BTSO).
Ahead of the 2023 Presidential Election, many Nigerians have started exploring the possibilities of Tinubu becoming the President of Nigeria.
