INEC Reveals Why Alhassan Ado Doguwa's Name Was Removed From The List Of Election Winners In Kano

The Independent National Electoral Commission has revealed why the name of embattled Leader of the House of Representatives, Honourable Alhassan Ado Doguwa was removed from the list of election winners in Kano State.

The electoral body had declared him as the winner of the House of Representatives seat for Doguwa/Tudunwada constituency in an election held on the 25th of February.

Alhassan Ado Doguwa, a candidate under the platform of the All Progressives Congress polled 39,732 votes to defeat his closest rival, Yushau Salisu Abdullahi of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP).

Yushau Salisu Abdullahi polled 34,798 votes to come second in the election.

Reacting to why Ado Doguwa's name was removed, the Independent National Electoral Commission stated that the declaration was made under duress.

Recall that the Leader of the House of Representatives is currently facing trial for his alleged involvement in violence in his constituency during the last election.
