A son of the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.) has been turbaned the Talban Daura.
The First Son was turbaned alongside Musa Daura, who is now the Dan Madamin Daura.
The Talban Daura is a top traditional position in Daura Emirate of Katsina State, reports say.
LASG Seals 16 Firms Over Tax Evasion
The Lagos State Internal Revenue Service (LIRS) yesterday resumed sealing of companies and hospitality firms over unpaid consumption taxes, shutting 16 firms during tax law enforcement.
The LIRS director of legal services, Mr Seyi Alade, said during the statewide enforcement had resolved to wield the stick on defaulters who insist on short-changing the state government.
Alade noted that LIRS suspended for some time the shutting of corporate organisations and hospitality firms over unpaid taxes. He said the affected companies failed to meet up with the March 31 deadline.
Buhari reappoints Prof. Obaseki as CMD of UBTH
The appointment of Prof. Darlington Obaseki, for a second term as Chief Medical Director of University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH), Benin city, has been ratified by President Muhammadu Buhari.
News of his reappointment was contained in a statement on Tuesday by the Hospital’s Head of Public Relations Unit, Barr. Joshua Uwaila.
“The CMD received the letter of appointment for his second term from the Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Ehanire, in Abuja on Monday.
NNPC Clarifies Under-remitted N3.89trn Allegation, Says N2.4trn Spent on Fuel Subsidy
The Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has said N2.4 trillion was spent on Petroleum Products Pricing Regulatory Agency (PPPRA) certified subsidies between 2012 and 2015.
The NNPC made this known in its clarification on the fresh allegation of revenue under-remittance by the Senate.

The atmosphere at the Eid was without any harassment of opposition members, including former President Bukola Saraki, in what observers called a far cry from what happened in Kwara before 2019 when leaders of opposition and their supporters were often targeted for ridicule and intimidation.
