Former Nigerian President, Shehu Shagari would have been 96 years old today if were to be alive.
The late statesman was born on the 25th of February, 1925 and died at the age of 93 on the 28th of October December, 2018.
The Sokoto-born politician was President of Nigeria between 1979 and 1983 after the transfer of power by military head of state General Olusegun Obasanjo.
Shehu Shagari might have died but he has a son who is a successful and astute politician.
His son, Aminu Shehu Shagari was a 3-term House of Representatives member.The Lawyer-turned Politician represented Yabo/Shagari Constituency of Sokoto state in the green chamber of the National Assembly.
The outspoken politician last year criticised the President Mohammadu Buhari led administration while appealing to former President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan for working against his reelection in 2015.
May the soul of the former President continues to rest in perfect peace and may God grant the bereaved family the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
