Some Southwest Governors may not be able to win their second term as Governors of their various States. The reason is that the Governors are not having good relationship with their Leaders in their various States. The Governors who may not be able to win their second term in their States shall be discussed one after the other in this article. One of the Southwest Governor who may find it difficult to deliver his state for his Party is the Governor of Osun State, Governor Gboyega Oyetola.
It is no more news that Governor Gboyega Oyetola and the Former Governor of the State, Rauf Aregbesola are fighting each other over the Leadership of the Party in the State. It should be recalled that Governor Oyetola won 2018 Governorship election under the Platform of the All Progressives Congress ,,m. It was gathered that Governor Gboyega Oyetola won the 2019 Governorship election through the Rerun election. The Former Deputy Governor of the State, Otunba Iyiola Omisore was one of the opposition Leaders that helped Governor Oyetola to win 2018 Governorship election. Meanwhile, Aregbesola and his loyalists also worked for Governor Gboyega Oyetola in 2018.
Meanwhile, Governor Gboyega Oyetola may likely contesting for 2022 Governorship election in the State. However, Governor Oyetola may not be able to deliver the State for his Party, APC in the forthcoming Governorship Polls except he settled with Aregbesola in the State. If Governor Oyetola could not settle the Crisis between him and Aregbesola before the Forthcoming Governorship Polls. Governor Oyetola may not deliver the State for APC in the Forthcoming Polls. Aregbesola's structure in Osun APC cannot be underrated. Therefore, Governor Oyetola should find means to settle with Aregbesola, otherwise he might not be able to win the Forthcoming Polls in the State.
Another Governor who may find it difficult to deliver his State for his Party in the Forthcoming Polls is the Governor of Oyo State, Governor Seyi Makinde. It should be recalled that Governor Seyi Makinde and some PDP Leaders in the State are not in good terms. It should be recalled that The National Vice Chairman of the Party in southwest, Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja, had earlier met with some Aggrieved Leaders of the Party in the State. One of the aggrieved Leader of the Party that Ambassador Taofeek Arapaja visited in the State is Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan and Alhaji Nureni Akanbi but they refuse to settle their grievances with the Governor, Recently, Alhaji Bisi Olopoeyan and Nureni Olopoeyan made it known during the PDP meetings, before the National Convention of the Party that Governor Makinde has marginalised them and their Loyalists in the Party. If the Crisis in the Party should continue, Governor Makinde might not be able to deliver the State in the Forthcoming Polls.
Meanwhile, The Opposition Leaders that helped Governor Makinde to win 2019 Governorship Polls, may not be be able to render any help in 2023 Governorship Polls. One of the Opposition Leaders that helped the Governor in 2019 Governorship Polls, is the former Governor of the State, Senator Rasidi Ladoja and Sarafadeen Ali but Sarafadeen Ali has dumped the Party for APC. And Senator Rasidi Ladoja also may likely dump the Party due to the recent visitation of APC Leaders to him in the State. Therefore, He might not be able to support Makinde to realise his Second term Governorship Ambition.
