The Minister of Information and culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed has implored Religious and traditional leaders to encourage inter-ethnic marriage to subside secession in the country. While speaking on Bond FM radio programme, “Ibi Abasede”, in Lagos state on Sunday urged Nigeria to shun promoters of secession stating that those who support separation and secession will be the first to run away when any problem emerges.
He said the religious and traditional leaders should encourage what the constitution says about inter-ethnic marriage.
He also stated that the Nigerian government was working hard to improve national security and prevent all secession attempts.
The Sahara News Reporters on their twitter handle aired the details of the Minister's speech at Bond FM radio.
The tweet was met with different reactions to the Minister's statement.
