The lawyer, Abel Ozioko, claimed that the case was new to the judge and as such, he carried out an experiment on Metuh. Source: UGC
The lawyer said: “The judge confessed that an issue like this is novel; in other words, he was carrying out an experiment."
Metuh's counsel alleged that the ruling was a clear example of bad judgement and that this is why it must be contested.
He added: "I still have confidence in the law court and we are heading upstairs to the three wise men to know whether he is right or wrong.â€
Justice Abang gave the verdict on Tuesday, February 25. The court found Metuh guilty on all the seven charges slammed against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).
I will say that the presiding judge held that Metuh was aware that the N400 million paid into his company, Destra Investment Ltd, was a proceed of unlawful activities of the former National Security Adviser, Col Mohammed Sambo Dasuki.
