Senator Omo-Agege describes Chief MKO Abiola and his wife, Kudirat Abiola as "icons" of democracy

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege, recently released a democracy day message to celebrate the event, and in his message, he praised Late Chief MKO Abiola and his wife, referring to them as icons of democracy.

According to the Deputy President of the Senate, Senator Omo-Agege, he revealed that June 12 has become a symbol of hope and a rallying point for the progressive agenda's of Nigeria's development of democracy.

Senator Omo-Agege who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Constitutuon Review, took the opportunity to assure that the exercise will strengthen our democracy.

He made reference to Chief MKO Abiola, who is the winner of the June 12,1993 election and his wife, Alhaja Kudirat Abiola, as icons of democracy.

Senator Omo-Agege, adviced those people who are clamouring for war in the country to have a rethink, and try to explore peaceful democratic options, in channeling their grievances.
