A few hours later, Senator Shehu Sani, who represented the Kaduna Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly was also announced to have joined PDP.
The defection of Senator Sani was disclosed by his close aide, Malam Suleiman Ahmed, as reported by the Daily Trust on Thursday.
Recall that Shehu Sani was elected as a senator from 2015 to 2019 on the platform of APC, but wasn't able to get the return ticket during the 2019 general election.
This eventually forced him to join the People’s Redemption Party (PRP) under which he contested but lost.
However, Shehu Sani decided to achieve his political aims by joining People Democratic Party after meeting with relevant PDP stakeholders in Kaduna, which was revealed by Malam Ahmed, who was described as his close aide.
"Yes, Distinguished Senator Shehu Sani has finally settled to join the PDP but the official ceremony and reception will be in the next two weeks all things being equal," Malam Ahmed Stated.
